Thank you for your interest in volunteering with Urban Peak Colorado Springs. Volunteers are an integral part of life at Urban Peak as we work together in partnerships to fulfill our mission. We offer daytime, evening and weekend opportunities to fit your schedule. Volunteering outside of the shelter requires a less extensive application process – just ask about the details!
How Can You Help?
Food, food, and more food:
Do you enjoy the culinary arts; have a favorite recipe or two? We have the job for you. We serve 20 youth three meals per day, 365 days per year. If you have two spare hours per month and like to eat consider preparing a meal for our youth. You can either bring your own groceries or get creative with what we have in our kitchen! This is our greatest need at this time and we would LOVE your help.
Urban Peak needs creative people to assist with designing flyers, brochures, newsletters, etc. Are you creative? Have some free time? Access to graphic design software? Then this is for you.
Like to teach? Share a skill? Create art? During the cold winter months our shelter is open during the day and youth would love to be taught creative writing, paint, create crafts, the arts provide an endless means to have youth connect to their creative side.
Do you like getting out and meeting new people? Consider representing Urban Peak at a fundraising or community building event. We always need help spreading the word about our mission!
Do you enjoy gardening or farming? This spring we are on a mission to revitalize our raised beds and garden and would love your help!
Do you enjoy rallying your community? Let us know if you could be interested in joining us at the Night Out to End Youth Homelessness in mid- November or our Off The Street Community Breakfast in mid- July. Also, if you are creating your own event – let us know – we are here to support!
Food and Supplies Drives:
Hate seeing good stuff go to waste? We are always in need of nonperishable food, clothes, and other items. We would very much appreciate your support through a food or clothing drive! Please find more information in the links below.
