Urban peak - Denver

Shelter: Every day of the year the Urban Peak Shelter is a warm,

safe option to another night on the streets. Our 40-bed facility is the

only licensed youth shelter in the Denver metro area primarily

serving young adults. We also provide meals, clothing, a clinic and

mental health evaluations.

Street Outreach: Our Street Outreach team and volunteers go out

each day to connect young people on the streets with the services

and support they need to improve their lives. From a pair of socks or

hygiene products, to HIV/AIDS testing or information on Urban Peak

services, Street Outreach truly knows that a little gesture can make

a big difference in the life of a homeless person.

Education & Employment Services: The Education & Employment Department engages youth through an individualized approach to help them develop and work towards educational and career goals. E&E Staff equip youth with appropriate resources and support they need to achieve their goals in coordination with all Urban Peak programming, other community professionals, and available resources. GED classes, high school re-engagement collaborations, and assistance accessing post-secondary education and training help youth prepare for the next phase of their lives. Job Readiness Training and the support of E&E Counselors and a Job Development/Retention Team enable youth to obtain the kind of employment necessary for a sustainable transition out of homelessness and instability. A partnership with the City & County of Denver’s Office of Economic Development and Workforce Investment Act programming allows us to provide numerous additional resources to support youth in their education and employment goals .

Special thanks to THE CITY & COUNTY OF DENVER OFFICE OF ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT for their support of our Education/Employment Program!

Urban Peak @ The Spot: Our drop-in center at The Spot offers opportunities for creative expression in a supportive community environment, along with access to all Urban Peak programs and services.

Health & Human Services:We help young people who are

homeless or at risk of being homeless. We serve youth who are

victims of abuse, facing mental health or substance abuse issues,

physically disabled or ill, or lacking sufficient support. Our direct

care staff assists each young person in managing their current

situation by providing a solid support system and hope for a brighter

future.

Housing: Urban Peak provides housing for our young people, and
resources to help them find appropriate living situations.
The STAR (Starting Transition and Recovery) Program provides

housing for those who are struggling to overcome substance abuse

issues. The Rowan Gardens Program houses young people with

disabilities. The Rocky Mountain Youth Housing Program, a joint

venture with the Denver Department of Human Services, provides

transitional housing for young people aging out of the foster care

system. Additionally, we administer federally assisted housing

vouchers for young people and provide supportive case management.
