Volunteers are a vital aspect of Urban Peak’s mission of providing care and support to the homeless teens and young adults we serve.  Volunteers are needed for one time projects or recurring volunteer roles on a weekly, monthly or quarterly schedule.

INDIVIDUAL RECURRING VOLUNTEERS

Volunteers are a vital aspect of Urban Peak’s mission of providing care and support to the homeless teens and young adults we serve.  Volunteers are needed for recurring volunteer roles on a weekly, monthly or quarterly schedule. 

IMPORTANT CRITERIA, PLEASE READ!!!!

• One time Volunteers or one time group volunteers are not currently needed at Urban Peak.Volunteers with serve in direct contact with Urban Peak clients must be age 21 or older.  Administrative volunteers can be younger than age 21.Internships are unpaid and only available for volunteers available Monday to Friday any time period during the hours of 8am to 7pm.Urban Peak DOES NOT ACCEPT VOLUNTEERS for court ordered community service.
• Urban Peak DOES NOT ACCEPT VOLUNTEERS with felonies involving theft, assault, illegal drug distribution, sexual assault, or repetitive drug or DUI charges.  

INDIVIDUAL VOLUNTEERS

Volunteer Requirements, Individual:

• Individual Volunteers who serve on a recurring basis are required to pass a TB test, and background check.  We ask our volunteers to support Urban Peak by personally paying the fees associated with the TB test ($15), Fingerprinting ($10) and the Background Check ($39.50).
• Individual Volunteers must attend a New Volunteer Orientation & Training Session.
• Recurring Volunteers are asked to serve for a minimum of six months and to serve at least 8 hours or two volunteer shifts a month.

We have a great need currently for individual volunteers to serve at our new Drop-In Center, the SPOT and in administration in finance, program evaluation & research, and volunteer/non-profit management.  Internships are available at the drop-in center and in administration.
