Urban Peak is deeply grateful for DaVita, whose “community first, company second” ethos has fueled years of meaningful support for youth experiencing homelessness. We’re especially thankful for Jim Hearty, DaVita’s Chief Compliance Officer and Senior Vice President, who has served on our board of directors for over a decade. Before joining DaVita, Jim was a federal prosecutor for nearly 15 years in Washington, D.C. and Colorado. When he transitioned from the Department of Justice, Jim was drawn to DaVita’s mission-driven and team-oriented culture. Through his sister’s work with unhoused families in Denver, he became aware of the need for youth-specific services—leading him to Urban Peak.

Inspired by our comprehensive services and unique focus on youth, Jim has become one of our strongest advocates. He regularly engages his family and friends in service projects, from preparing meals to other hands-on volunteering. As he puts it, “We can’t help the population we serve without committed staff and volunteers.” We couldn’t agree more—thank you, Jim and DaVita, for your unwavering commitment to our youth!
